Hi it’s Sid here again. Last week Sam (my human half brother) showed me how to climb a tree!
It was a bit scary so I pinched his hat when I got to the top. Don’t you think I look great?
Whilst we were out enjoying ourselves, Meg (my half sister) spent most of the week helping Jan Harrigan at Swan Rescue, one of two local places that look after sick and injured swans, they both do a terrific job. Many of the swans come to the surgery and my dad, Stephen, does his best to fix them. I have to keep out the way when they come in as swans are very scared of dogs.
Everyone has been very excited at the Claines surgery with the arrival of our new blood machine. This has huge benefits for your pets health as many more illnesses can be diagnosed in-house enabling rapid treatment. Tests now include pancreatitis, thyroid disease, phenbarbitone levels (very useful for fitting dogs as medication can be altered immediately) as well as the standard haematology and biochemistry we have always offered.
As us pets approach our twilight years, our bodies need a little more monitoring to keep us fit and healthy.
Our new geriatric clinics, coming soon, run by one of our fabulous nurses, will help to do just this by checking our liver and kidney functions, amongst other things. They will be a bit like a ‘well pet clinic’, giving older pets an opportunity to stay in tip top condition.
Did you know animals over the age of 8 are considered senior! Hmm I’m not quite there yet!
Anyway, thats enough chatter, I must get back to work!
See you soon
Sid
